Searching for the right counselor is a daunting task. As counseling is all about connection and safety in exploring all that life brings, I think it’s important that you know more about who I am. I am highly relational; I enjoy connecting with people and knowing their stories. I feel a great honor when entrusted with someone’s narrative. Vulnerability is the emotion most people want to move away from, but I believe it is the key to a deeper connection. A balance of gentleness and directness is the way I like to help my clients heighten their awareness of themselves and the world around them.
To understand my experience a bit better; I graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in August 2020 and from the University of North Texas with a Master of Science in Counseling in December 2022. My training in school focused on adolescents, namely teenagers and young adults. At our onsite clinic, I provided outpatient individual counseling sessions to high schoolers, college students, and adults. During school and for my master’s internship, I also worked at a partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient program for adolescents in a variety of roles. I provided family sessions, individual sessions, and led groups.
Outside of being a counselor, I work as an animal care professional with a variety of species. I enjoy that my jobs allow me to fulfill my greatest passions in life: helping people and helping animals. I enjoy playing pickleball, traveling, reading, and watching reality TV in my free time.
